"Recycling is a clean business." The Theo Pouw Group knows what they are talking about. In Eemshaven, the producer of primary and secondary structural materials has substantially increased its activities.
Fellow group entities meet up at Eemshaven
The purpose of the Theo Pouw recycling plant is the reuse of structural materials. There is an earth washing installation and a building rubble crushing mill, while sand, gravel and granulates are being stored as well. In addition, Theo Pouw has put into service a thermal incinerator. This installation enables tarry asphalt and polluted soil to be cleaned for reuse.
Fellow group entities Seher and Beenen are involved in the project. Seher supplied a mega transformer station of 8x15 metres and a 4000A low-voltage distributor ordered by Eneco Energie Dokkum. Together with ZPUE, one of Seher's foreign suppliers, five modular transformer stations have been developed and at once provided with the technical installations. Thanks to this modular build, the five units at Eemshaven were installed under the supervision of Seher within three days.
Beenen then took care of all the field cable work. This means that a total of approximately 80 km of electric main and control current cables have been laid and connected between the control cabinets and the field equipment. The entire network structure, too, was installed by Beenen. This network structure is necessary to link all the operating systems to be able control the installations and visualise the process from a central command tower. A camera system has also been installed that enables the critical parts of the process to be monitored from the command tower. Beenen has provided lighting for the entire site where the thermal purifiers are installed. In collaboration with Progmatic, which supplied the operating systems, Beenen was responsible for the entire coordination of the installation work.
Both Theo Pouw's thermal incinerators at Eemshaven have now been put into service. The service and maintenance of the installation as a whole has been outsourced to Beenen. A successful project for a clean business!
